Understanding Temperature Compensation
Temperature Compensation is a feature that Optec Focuser’s support that allows them to compensate for changes in temperature. As the temperature changes throughout an imaging session the focal point can shift. By measuring the change in focus at several different temperatures the software can calculate the Temperature Coefficient, which is the slope of the temperature change. By performing small moves as the temperature changes the focuser can maintain focus. Homing focusers can also use the intercept to jump to a specific temperature as if they had stayed in temperature compensation mode.
