Many Linux distributions limit access to COM Ports by default. If required you will need to give your user permission to access ports to connect to the focuser. How this is accomplished varies from distribution to distribution.

Note: this is a beta, a release version for macOS will be available at a latter date.
Currently this is tested on macOS 10.15 but it should support 10.13+.
Note: that you may need to manually approve this application in Gatekeeper or by right clicking and selecting Open and then Open on the Gatekeeper warning.
You can also install the Windows or Linux driver in Parallels or on another machine and access it remotely on the Mac.
ASCOM Alpaca is here! With the release of ASCOM Platform 6.5 the Radian Raptor electronic focuser uses Alpaca drivers for cross platform support. These drivers are fully compatible with existing ASCOM clients through the updated ASCOM Platform. Alpaca drivers even allow you to connect to a Radian Focuser attached to a different computer.
