Device Types
============

FocusLynx controllers support many different focusers and focuser motors.
Here is the current list with some details and the controllers that support that device type.
This includes if the FocusLynx, TCF-LSI or ThirdLynx supports the device type and the device code.

No Device
---------

- FocusLynx
- ThirdLynx
- TCF-LSI

No device is set when the focuser controller needs to be configured. When a focuser is in No Device mode it will not move.

DirectSync / Posi-Drive
-----------------------

- FocusLynx
- ThirdLynx

The Optec DirectSync and Starlight Posi-Drive are Syncing motors that automate existing focusers. They support both High Speed and High Torque modes.

- Code: High Torque - FD
- Code: High Speed - FF

QuickSync / Handy Stepper Motor
-------------------------------

- FocusLynx
- ThirdLynx

The Optec QuickSync and Starlight Hand Stepper Motors are Syncing motors that automate existing focusers. They support both High Speed and High Torque modes.

Optec FastFocus
---------------

- FocusLynx

The Optec FastFocus or Secondary Mirror Focusing System (SMFS) is a Homing focuser that motorizes the secondary mirror of a Celestron C11 or C14.

Optec TCF-Leo

The Optec TCF-Leo is a low profile Homing focuser. They support both High Speed and High Torque modes.

Optec Sagitta OAG Motor

The Optec Sagitta is a Homing focuser for the Optec Sagitta Off Axis Guider.

Optec Sagitta 2 OAG Motor

The Optec Sagitta 2 is a Homing focuser for the Optec Sagitta Off Axis Guider. It has twice as many steps as the original Sagitta.

Optec TCF-Lynx 2"

The Optec TCF-Lynx 2" is a Homing focuser. It is the Lynx version of the TCF-S 2" focuser.

Optec TCF-Lynx 3"

The Optec TCF-Lynx 3" is a Homing focuser. It is the Lynx version of the TCF-S 3" focuser.

FeatherTouch Microtouch MSM
---------------------------

- FocusLynx

The Starlight Instruments MicroTouch MSM is a unipolar focuser motor. It supports both High Speed and High Torque modes.

Unipolar motor
--------------

- FocusLynx

Unipolar motor mode supports several unipolar motors with a converter. This is often used for RoboFocus Focusers with a converter kit.

.. Note::
   There are many more codes that are considered deprecated. They will still work and the controller will report them however it is recommend to use these generic codes instead.
